Ebay hosted an auction that would allow the winner to have dinner with former Alaska Governor and Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin. Believe it or not, Cathy Maples from Huntsville, Alabama actually agreed to pay $63,500. The auction allows her to take up to four guests to the dinner with Sarah and her husband Todd. The best part of this whole Ebay auction is that the proceeds will go to Ride 2 Recovery which does great work to support wounded veterans via cycling programs. Ride 2 Recovery looks to improve the lives of vets by assisting in their mental and physical rehabilitation programs. One of the most interesting things about this Ebay auction is that the winner happens to own a defense contracting company and of course is in full support of the US military.

This is not the first time a dinner like this has been auctioned off on Ebay. In fact there are currently two similar dinner auctions that are live on Ebay today. The one generating the most buzz right now is a Nick Lachey dream dinner date in Los Angeles that includes hotel and airfare. When last checked the high bid was for $3,050. Luckily there is still time as this auction runs until October 1st and a portion of the proceeds will go to benefit VH1 Save The Music. Another auction that ends today is for dinner in Las Vegas with Jenna Shoemaker who is a professional triathlete. Jenna is an amazing athlete and will donate a portion of the proceeds to help fight breast cancer. No matter how hard other auction sites try, Ebay remains at the top as the leader for weird auctions.
